GMC buys water sprinkler tanker to control rising pollution

Ghaziabad: In an attempt to control the rising levels of air pollution, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) have bought a sprinkler water tanker. This tanker has the capacity to store water up to 9,000 litre.

With this vehicle, the corporation aims to bring down the pollution and improve the air quality of the city.

GMC officials said that the tanker would sprinkle water near central verge, on roadsides, and near green belts to settle down the dust particles and other pollutants suspended in the air.

For this purpose, the tanker would use treated water from sewage treatment plant (STP), told Jitendra Kumar, PRO, GMC.

“However, in coming days, the corporation would buy four more such sprinkler tankers making their total count of five,” Kumar added.

The corporation would be able to deploy sprinkler tankers in each zone of the city. GMC looks after five zones in Ghaziabad.
