SDMC sets aside Rs 15 crore for regularised colonies’ development

New Delhi: The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has made a provision of Rs 15 crore for the development work in the colonies regularised after a Bill was passed in Parliament this year in November.

The civic agency had earlier said that it cannot spend money on these colonies, except for cleanliness and sanitation, as they were unauthorised.

Kamaljeet Sherawat, Leader of the House, said that Rs 15 crore has been provisioned for development works in the colonies that have been recently regularised which would be distributed equally.

A councillor will be given an additional fund of Rs 15 lakh for carrying out development works.
