To ensure smooth vehicular movement on the day, the Gurugram Traffic Police advisory asks the commuters to park their vehicles at a designated parking space.

“Parking on the road will be strictly prohibited and vehicles parked on the road will be towed away by the Gurugram Traffic Police,” said a circular circulated by the traffic police.

The traffic police issued the advisory anticipating a huge rush on the road with people heading to malls and markets for New Year celebration.

The traffic police personnel will be deployed at various points in the city to keep a check on drunken driving. “The penalty for drunken driving, as per the amended Motor Vehicle Act, is Rs. 10,000 and the driving license is liable to be suspended for 3 months. Commuters are advised not to drive vehicles in an intoxicated state,” the traffic police said.

Leisure Valley Ground has been designated as the parking area. Vehicles parked elsewhere are liable to be towed away.

The traffic police also advised commuters intending to go towards Sector-29 market from NH-48 to follow the blue line and park their vehicle in the designated parking area.
