New Delhi: Pragati Maidan metro station will now be called the Supreme Court metro station. This was disclosed by Deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.

Addressing a press conference, Sisodia said the Delhi government's naming committee on Tuesday decided to rename the Pragati Maidan metro station as Supreme Court metro station.

The committee has also decided to rename Mukarba Chowk in Jahangirpuri and its flyover as Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Chowk. Likewise, the Mehrauli-Badarpur Road will be called Acharya Sri Mahapragya Marg.

“Mukarba Chowk and its flyover have been renamed as Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra. Parents of the martyr had requested this so that people get inspired by his martyrdom,” Sisodia said.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader said that the entire renaming process, including changing of audio in metro train announcements, will be done in a month.

The Delhi government had constituted the naming committee in 2017.
