Ardee City: Aggrieved residents meet MLA to raise issue of pending registry

Gurugram: A delegation of residents of Ardee City in Sector 52 on Wednesday met the Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla and sought his intervention over the pending registration of their properties and flats.

More than 300 home owners in Ardee City have been living in the colony without the registry of their flats.

The residents alleged that the builder is putting demands which are not required for the registry of the properties. The residents complained that they have been suffering for no fault of theirs as they cannot sell their properties or mortgage it if they want.

Chaitali Mandhotra, RWA member of Ardee City said, “We have met the MLA over the pending registration of our properties and requested him to intervene in the matter and provide us some relief.”

She further added, “The developer has been neglecting the maintenance of the colony for the last 6-7 years which is why residents have stopped the maintenance charge. Now the developer is linking non payment of maintenance charges with the registration process which are unjust to the residents. The builder is asking unwanted demands adding miseries to residents.”

The residents claimed that they are running from pillar to post to get their registry done but nothing has been done to resolve the issue. They have written several letters to Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) officials and district administration in this regard.

In October last year, the residents had also lodged the complaint in CM Window.

Uma Balasubramaniam, one of the residents said, “Even after the wait of 16 years, the registry of my flat is still pending. I have approached the developer several times in the past with a request to get the registry done but the developer is not ready to listen to us. I am ready to pay the stamp duty, court fee and any other applicable  charges to get my house registered.”

“This delay by the builder is not only causing revenue loss to the government but also depriving us from rightful ownership of our property,” she lamented.

Meanwhile MLA Sudhir Singla assured the residents to provide all possible support in getting them the registration of their properties.
