New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has many things on its platter when it comes to providing facilities at the schools. It has proposed cycling clubs in five government schools which are run by NDMC.

It also has plans to install panic button and CCTV cameras to improve security in various campuses. Moreover, the area of digital class rooms will be extended from class I onwards. Earlier, it was from class V.

While proposing annual budget for the year 2020-21, Chairman of NDMC Dharmendra said, “We are highly concerned about health and atmosphere of school going children. Many initiatives have been taken for convenience of school going children.”

“We proposed cycling clubs at five schools where children can borrow cycle while commuting from home. Primary classes will also be equipped with smart classes. Tablet-based WiFi enabled classroom is also in the pipeline for next financial year,” he said.

The NDMC also planned to extend “Seema Darshan” scheme in the next year as well. It is a unique concept of Ministry of Human Resource and Development where 45 school children and five teachers from different NDMC and Navyug schools participate in program to visit borders of country and present an array of performances before soldiers and troop.
