Gurugram: To ensure synergy between the councillors and Mayor’s team, the newly-appointed commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), Vinay Pratap Singh held an informal meet on Friday at office in Sector 34.

During the meeting it was decided that teams will work together to make Gurugram clean, beautiful and a better city. The Mayor said, “Gurugram belongs to all of us and we have to work together for its betterment.”

She said that along with providing better facilities to the citizens of Gurugram in the year 2020, our focus will also be on providing good infrastructure.

The issue of high tension power cables in Patel Nagar was discussed during the meeting and it was decided that the issue will be resolved in coordination with the electricity department. It was suggested to separate Faridabad and work on zone wise waste management to solve the problem of waste in Bandhwadi.

The councillors emphasised on giving responsibility of ward to MCG councillors for improving the sanitation system. Better maintenance of public toilets and proper management of door-to-door waste collection were also discussed in the meeting.

Apart from that, zone-wise Super Sucker Machines for sewerage cleaning, making corporation lands free from occupation, encroachment-free roads, pavements and markets, promoting waste segregation and compost, continuation of corporation at your doorstep, improving streetlights, reduction in the booking amount of community centers, market takeover of HSVP sectors, completion of railway foot-over bridge among others were discussed during the meeting.

Along with this, to improve the cleaning and gardening work, to provide ward wise shredder, to establish ward wise CFC and dispensary, to provide one staff each related to horticulture, development and cleaning to councillors were discussed.

MCG Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said that all issues will be resolved ward wise and solid waste management, encroachment-free Gurugram, cleanliness and development works will be taken on priority.

He said, “Tenders related to emergency maintenance would be done on an annual basis so that these works could be done with immediate effect. There will be counters at the tehsil (county) for property tax and development fee and it will be mandatory to take NOC from these counters before getting any property registered in the corporation boundary.”

He further added that to get the better rankings in the Swachh Survekshan-2020, instructions have been given to clean all the garbage points and Ecogreen Energy was also instructed to do a better job.
