Noida: A prize distribution ceremony was held on Saturday for the winners of the annual painting competition organised in July last year by Amarpushp Educational and Welfare Society, an NGO working for education.

The competition was held for the students of a government secondary school in Bisrakh.

The eight-year old NGO has been organising the national level drawing competition for the last three years in which over 1,000 students from five different states participated this year. The competition was organised in the months of July, August and September last year.

After the competition, the art pieces were sent to different art faculties in universities, colleges and schools for evaluation.

Talking to CitySpidey, Ashish Khushwaha, head of the NGO, said, “After evaluation we try to arrange prize distribution ceremonies at various schools to boast the morale of the children. The places where we cannot reach physically, we send certificates and prizes through courier.”

This time, a ceremony was arranged at a school in Bisrakh to celebrate the New Year with the children and to confer the prizes on them.

“We also gave training to them before participating as we understand that though children from government school have much potential but need some help to grab hands on and improve skills,”  Khushwaha added.

The team from Amarpushp not only distributed certificates but also played various games and interacted with the children. Following several requests, they will soon come up with a sports competition.
