New Delhi: Delhiites are enjoying the warmth of sunny days for quite some time now. The minimum temperature on Sunday settled at 7 degrees Celsius.

However, the air quality continued to be in the ‘very poor’ category with Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 350 around 9 am, according to a data provided by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Relative humidity was 94 percent at 8.30 am. As per forecast, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 21 degrees Celsius during the day.

On Saturday, both the maximum and minimum temperatures were above normal for the season. The maximum temperature was 21.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while the minimum temperature was 8 degrees Celsius.

The rising temperature improved the air quality which reached to 334 (very poor category) on Saturday from 352 (very poor category) on Friday, according to CPCB.

The Met department has forecast a spell of rain on January 7 and 8 in the capital due to a fresh western disturbance after which the temperatures are likely to drop.

According to skymetweather.com, Delhi will see significant drop in the minimums from about 7 to 8 degrees to 4 degrees, resulting in cold day and cold wave conditions.
