Noida: The Noida Industrial Development Authority, the agency responsible to develop infrastructure, and the city traffic police have decided to launch a drive to streamline traffic movement in the city.
The decision came at a meeting held at the Noida Authority's office. It was chaired by Ritu Maheshwari, chief executive officer of the authority, where top officers of the traffic police and concerned consultant were present.
In the meeting, it was decided to tow away vehicles illegally parked in the busy industrial, markets or mall areas of the city. They have also decided to deploy personnel on busy roads on Saturdays and Sundays.
Ritu Maheshwari said that many drivers block the road by parking their buses. She said that the facility to park their vehicles has been made at Transport Nagar.
In the meeting, the traffic police presented the results of the experiment conducted to streamline traffic flow at many congested road junctures in the city.
On listening to the traffic police, Maheshwari said that a proposal should be presented before the authority following which it would initiate any action.
