GDA calls meeting over CAM charge hike at Ajnara Gen-X

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has called a meeting with the residents of Ajnara Gen-X in Crossings Republik and their developer to address a conflict over hike in common area maintenance (CAM) charge which is going on for several months.

The authority has called both the parties on January 16 at the GDA office.

The matter reached the GDA this week after the residents staged a number of protest against the developer. The residents and the developer are at loggerheads over a hike of 50 paise per square feet in CAM charge.

In July, the residents had protested against the arbitrary move of the developer where the residents were asked to comply with the hike in CAM charges else, the maintenance services would be withdrawn.

The reason behind this move, as given by the developer, was incurrence of losses while maintaining the society.

Appalled residents then wrote a letter to the management of Ajnara India Limited stating 14 reasons against the proposed hike in the CAM charge.

Some of the reasons stated were defunct fire system, non operational equipment in gym and club, non maintenance of swimming pool and structural defects in the buildings.

However, the issue has been dragged since then and finally will be heard in upcoming meeting.
