KW Srishti: Flat owner catches guards stealing shoes kept outside

Ghaziabad: In a bizarre incident, a resident of KW Srishti, a residential society in Raj Nagar Extension, caught three security guards of the society allegedly stealing a pair of shoes from the shoe rack kept outside his flat. The resident claimed that he caught the guards red handed.

The incident took place around 12.30 am on Tuesday. Sudesh Vats was awake and working on his computer when lights went off at the flat.

“I heard some noises coming from the common area of the building's floor. I went to the main gate of my flat and opened wooden door. I saw a guard who was trying to do something suspicious with the iron door of my flat while two others were standing behind. Another guard was carrying a pair of my sports shoes that I had kept in the shoe rack. After spotting me, all of them ran away through staircase,” he narrated the incident.

For now, the maintenance management has terminated the services of the guards. However, Vats wants to press charges upon the guards. “I will lodge an FIR against them. I am just waiting to receive their credentials from the security agency,” he said.

CitySpidey spoke to the security officials of the society. One of them told that the guards have been removed from the duty and their salaries were kept on hold. However, he denied the claims of theft attempt. “They were only wandering on the floor,” the official counter, on the condition of anonymity, countered Vats' claim.

When the official was asked why the action was taken against the guards if they believe that they were innocent, he told, “It was done to pacify Vats.”

Meanwhile, Vats refuted the claims made by the official. CitySpidey tried to get in touch with the guards but they remained incommunicado.
