GMC starts campaign to get better rank in Swachh Survekshan

Ghaziabad: The annual urban cleanliness survey, Swachh Survekshan, by Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs has officially begun and Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has started campaigning in all the possible ways to get better ranking in the survey.

The first survey was rolled out in 2015 and 2020 is the fifth edition of the Swachh Survekshan. GMC has started outreach program where the officials are meeting with the citizens and asking them to vote. They are also asking to give good numbers to them so that the city secures good rank in the survey.

One of the methods used in Swachh Survekshan to get ranking is the feedback of the citizens. A person can vote for the city he/she lives in. To vote, a person would have to install its app. After installing it, the person would be asked to fill credentials.

After filling the credentials, a person would be presented eight scenario based questions followed by a scale ranging from 0 to 10 to answer the question. The user would have to give rating on the scale to answer.

In 2019, Ghaziabad had secured 13th position in the national rankings and topped in the state rankings of the Swachh Survekshan. It was a huge jump as in 2018, Ghaziabad stood at 351 position nationally. The voting through the app is open till January 30.
