A self-defence camp is being organised by Choti Si Khusi, an NGO, at Sector 3, for girls, women and children.

The NGO, which is working for children, women and girls from underprivileged sections of the society, is organising the 10-day long camp with the support of Delhi Police Self Defence wing.

Constable Rekha, a trainer from the Delhi Police, is training children and women. At the camp, Choti Si Khushi volunteers drawn from various sectors and societies too are getting training to defend themselves against any eventuality.

Commenced on January 3, the camp would culminate on January 13, 2020.

Speaking about her experience, Constable Rekha said, "Children are looking confident and demonstrating the techniques of self-defence well. Women too are giving a positive response to the training and learning fast."

Secretary of Choti Si Khushi, Namitha Chaudhury, said, "We as volunteers too are taking the training. This is boosting our confidence. We get a sense of satisfaction and inspiration while looking at the women from underprivileged sections taking the training in sarees.”

She hoped the women will socially empower themselves through such camps.
