Noida: Peeved residents of the residential society in Sector 119 say basic amenities are missing and flats have not been registered.

Amrapali Platinum residents protest against builder Residents during the protest at the builder's office in Sector 62 on Saturday.

About 150 to 200 residents of Amrapali Platinum, a residential society in Sector 119, Noida, staged a protest against the Amrapali Group at its office in Sector 62 on Saturday.

According to residents, the builder has not provided basic amenities to them. Despite paying a maintenance charge at the rate of Rs 2.25 per sqft, the quality of service provided by the builder is not up to mark. There is no fire-fighting equipment, club house is under construction and the water is supplied at low pressure.

Rahul Sharma, a resident, told City Spidey that residents are not able to use the swimming pool due to the ongoing construction work in the society. “Water being supplied is also not suitable for drinking. So, we have to buy bottled water for drinking purposes," Sharma added.

Anoop Ranjan, another resident, said that three lifts were to be installed in each tower according to the building plan. But, the builder has installed only two lifts. He also said, “As per the law, without completion certificate, the builder cannot take the maintenance charge. But, the maintenance staff deducts the maintenance charge from the electric bill without our approval.”

Residents also added that the flats have not been yet registered by the builder. And when they approached Noida Authority, they were told that the builder has pending dues running into crores of rupees.

Kusum Sharma, another resident, said that representatives of Amrapali Group often assured that the problems will be solved but to no effect.

When City Spidey spoke to Sanjay Kumar, project director of Amrapali Platinum project, he said that the finishing work of the society is underway and will be completed in February, 2017.
