Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Dwarka, Rajender Singh, exhorted children to go for higher goals, but don't stray from the path of righteousness. 

The ACP was interacting with the children eat the culmination of a 10-day self-defence camp organised by Choti Si Khushi, an NGO working for the development of underprivileged sections of the society. 

The camp was held at Sector 3 for children, girls and women with the support of the Delhi Police under the guidance of a trainer, Constable Rekha. 

Singh praised the efforts of the children, especially girls, and encouraged the women to adopt self-defence techniques to meet any eventuality in their lives. After watching a demonstration of the self-defence skills and techniques by the girls and women, he said, “I am very happy to see the high confidence level of girls and women. It's quite encouraging.” 

Lauding their performances of the participants, he told them, “You are definitely going to make it big in life. Just walk on the right path.” 

Exhorting the children to become good citizens, the ACP advised them to go for Delhi Police newly introduced scheme for boys, Sanskarshala. “Samshkarshala is an initiative of Delhi Police to educate boys about good behaviour and a positive attitude. You should join it,” he told the boys in the gathering.

Around 50 women, children and girls were trained under the camp. Besides the training in self-defence, they were given tips on good behaviour on road and personality development. 

Volunteers from the Choti Si Khushi, mainly women from various sectors and societies of Dwarka were benefited from the interaction with the trainer, Rekha, a constable with the Delhi Police. 

Speaking about the experiment, secretary of the Choti Si Khushi, Namitha Chaudhary said, “We not only learn the techniques of self-defence but also practice it regularly and try to spread it for the realisation of support system in the society. More such camps will be organised in future.”
