Noida: In a humanitarian gesture, a city-based resident group, Green Volunteers' Team, on Monday distributed woolen clothes, shoes and stationery among several underprivileged people who live at the construction sites in Noida.

Formed by social workers like CDR Khural, Dinesh Singh and Abhay Pandey, the Green Volunteers' Team recently launched wish gift initiative. Under the initiative, they randomly visit various construction sites in the city and identify the needy.

Recounting the experiment, Dinesh Singh said, "We recently visited a construction site near Sorkha, a village in Noida, to identify the needy. People at the site had requested for stationery, shoes and woolen clothes for the children, hence the donation.''

The organisation also helps resolve the issues of children hailing from weaker section of the society. They encourage the poor kids to go to school. They get them enrolled in schools and monitor their progress regularly.

Pandey said, ''We collected and gave brand new stationery, shoes and woolen clothes to the children. We also take care of their health. At times, we even take the children to the doctor for consultation and medical aids.”
