Greater Noida West: The festival of Lohri was celebrated with much fun and fervor across the city on Monday. Several high-rise societies including Gaur City 6th avenue, Cherry County, Arihant Arden and many others celebrated the harvest festival with a lot of zeal.
While the preparation for Lohri bonfire had started from the morning, tents were erected in the societies common area in the evening. People decked up in traditional clothes, gathered around the bonfire and performed ritual by throwing til, puffed rice and popcorns into the fire and prayed for prosperity and the well-being of their loved ones.
Women and children danced and sang folk songs around the bonfire. In many societies special dance performances were seen by the women group.
