Gaur City-2 women cook and feed the needy on Sankranti

Greater Noida West: A group of woman residents of 11  Avenue Gaur City-2 along with a local NGO, Aprajeeta Seth (Mahila Uthan Zeemedar), distributed Khichdi (lentil with rice) to some thousand people on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on Wednesday.

Some 15 female residents of the society came together to celebrate the harvest festival by feeding the underprivileged. Along with the khichdi, moongfali (peanuts) and rabri (milk cream) were also distributed among children.

Talking to CitySpidey, Aprajeeta Seth, a member of the NGO and the co-organiser of the event, said, "100 kg cooked khichdi was prepared from the contribution from volunteers, residents of the society and the NGO."

The NGO is working for women empowerment, rights, education and uplift of girls for the last 17 years.
