Ghaziabad: Soon, residents of Raj Nagar Extension will bid adieu to long queues outside the CNG filling stations. The Ghaziabad Development Authority is set to approve a proposal for a new CNG station in its upcoming board meeting, as per a report by the Hindi daily Dainik Jagran.

The authority may give its approval to the proposed CNG station at Saddique Nagar, a colony adjacent to Raj Nagar Extension. The Chief Architect Town Planner (CATP), Ashish Shivpuri, said that an NOC to the establishment of the filling station has been issued by the authority and a proposal to this effect would be tabled in its board meeting.

This will be the second CNG station that will majorly cater to the residents of Raj Nagar Extension. Another CNG station already exists in the area was established next to Star Rameshwaram society.

The CNG station will bring relief to over 50,000 residents of the locality.

As per the data of the transport department of Ghaziabad, there are 68,000 CNG vehicles registered in the city. However, the city offers only a handful of CNG filling stations. Hence, the average waiting time of each vehicle for the CNG is around 20-25 minutes.

The authority had approved the opening of 16 CNG filling stations last year. However, only a few of them have been constructed so far.
