Gaur Sportswood: Residents protest against delay in flat's registration

Noida: Around 200 residents especially women and senior citizens of Gaur Sportswood, a highrise in Sector 79, on Saturday morning staged a protest against delay in registration of the properties.

They complained that the developer had collected stamp and registry fees in advance before they moved in the society two years back. But registry was yet to be executed.

Residents said that developer failed to adhere to Noida Authority, the land owning agency's rules and regulations due to which the authority did not issue occupancy and completion certificate.

Suresh Bajpai, a resident said that certificates are mandatory to carry out properties' registries. But it is not clear why the issuance of certificates got delayed despite claims of developer that the dues against allotment of plot was cleared.

Residents were angry as the developer was also not compensating against advance payment of stamp and registry fees to them.

While protesting, they took rounds of the society and raised slogans against the developers. It was culminated after protest at society gate where almost all the residents were present.

They said that they had information that the authority would issue these certificates only after the Sports City, another residential projects adjoining to Sportswood gets ready.

Sanwarjeet Singh, another resident said, "How is it relevant when it is not being made clear that the developer has stakes in the other project as well. This project was to be developed by 3C, other developer or by consortium of developers, formed in the past."

Dinesh Gupta said that the developer is celebrating 25 years of the realty company Gaur Sons. "But residents have been facing huge problems due to non registry of flats and the company is also not paying heed to our problems," he added.
