Ghaziabad: The residents of VVIP Addresses, an upscale residential condominium in Raj Nagar Extension, will choose their second board of Apartment Owners Association (AOA) on Sunday. An election to form the next AOA board will take place on the day through voting by the residents.
This will be the second term of the AOA board after it was first formed in the year 2018. The election was due in February 2019, after completion of its term. However, the election could not be conducted.
The voting will start from 10 am and will be concluded by 2 pm. The winners, on the basis of highest vote share, will be announced after counting.
“The election will be held on all the ten posts of the AOA board where 23 candidates will try their luck,” said JP Kashyap, President of the election committee. Kashyap said that 27 candidates had filed nominations in the election and we have found them eligible to contest. However, four of them withdrew their nominations later. The final number of contestants is 23.
Meanwhile, the election committee has rolled out the list of voters in the society. The committee has acknowledged total 793 voters. “They will be allowed to cast their votes after producing a government ID on the polling counter,” Kashyap said.
Kashyap also informed that the voting will be done on the ballot paper. The committee had ordered a batch of the ballot paper that was delivered on Saturday. Besides, an official from the district administration will supervise the whole election. The election will be conducted under the supervision of Deputy City Magistrate DP Singh.
