Westerlies keep Delhi chilled, rain likely on Tuesday

New Delhi: The dense fog that enveloped Delhi in the early hours of Saturday resulted in the delay of over 50 flights and 20 trains. Visibility at Palam at 5.30 am was 50 metres, while it remained below 200 metres at Safdarjung till 9:30 am. The minimum temperature also dropped by 3 degrees Celsius on Saturday compared to Friday.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), a fresh western disturbance is likely to impact the National Capital on Monday when the temperature will once again rise. 

The city is likely to receive light rain on Tuesday owing to a fresh western disturbance, said IMD. 

The average day temperature for the next 12 days is likely to remain between 21 and 22 degrees Celsius while the night temperature will remain close to 10 degrees Celsius. 

The city recorded 16.8 mm rain on Thursday. The relative humidity remained high on Friday, between 76 per cent and 100 per cent.
