Do whatever you want, but this Noida Sector 61 RWA simply refuses to step down!

Paying little heed to corruption charges by residents and ignoring pleas for fresh elections, the Sector 61 RWA continues to function undaunted.

Do whatever you want, but this Noida Sector 61 RWA simply refuses to step down!

The RWA president of Sector 61, Noida, Dr Virender Singh, continues to hold the post illegally, despite repeated complaints from society residents.

Residents have been raising their voice against the existing executive committee and have been demanding fresh and fair elections to the RWA. Namit Gautam, the president of the RWA of Prateek Fedora Apartments, told City Spidey that the last election was held seven years back. Since then it has been the same executive committee at the helm of affairs. He added that the RWA has refused to hold fresh elections despite continued protests. So much so that some of the residents have even stopped paying the RWA membership fee. The executive committee, instead of addressing the discontent, got their membership disqualified.

RK Sharma, another resident of the sector, said, “Though every plot owner within the sector is eligible to be an RWA member, the number has dwindled significantly from 600 to a mere 40. This happened because of a delay in holding fresh elections.”

Sharma charged the RWA with corruption, adding that it was not conducting elections because it enjoyed a recurring income from the booking of the sector’s community centre.

The RWA president has remained out of reach and has not responded to phone calls or text messages.
