Gurugram: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, on Saturday, inaugurated the much awaited Bajghera Railway Overbridge (ROB). He was joined by Badshahpur MLA Rakesh Daultabad.

The four-lane ROB is constructed on Bajghera railway crossing and will connect Gurugram with Delhi via New Palam Vihar and Bijwasan.

While addressing the gathering, Chautala said that there was a long-standing demand of the railway overbridge by the locals which has been fulfilled by the government. He said, “With the construction of this railway overbridge, the traffic system will be smooth and people will get rid of the problem of traffic jam.”

He further said, “Steps will be taken to further smooth the traffic system in the Gurugram district.”

The ROB is constructed at a cost of Rs. 42 crore of which Rs 30 crore was contributed by the Public Works Department (PWD) and Rs 12 crore by the railways. The project had started on July 2016.

With the operationalisation of the ROB, locals expect that it will benefit the commuters of Palam Vihar, New Palam Vihar and several new sectors near Delhi.
