Ghaziabad: Just two days after the formation of Apartment Owners Association (AOA), a rift between its members has surfaced at Ajnara Integrity, a highrise in Raj Nagar Extension. An executive board member has threatened to resign from membership alleging partiality and undemocratic conduct in electing office bearers of the AOA.

Satyendra Kumar Srivastava, the executive member of the AOA, has levelled the allegations. He complained that despite being in the board for the third time, he was not given any office in the AOA. He complained that he was not considered for the offices while others were preferred.

Beside, he also alleged that consensus for distributing the offices were also not formed democratically. It was more of a diktat. “Everything was decided beforehand and people were only informed with the decision,” he alleged.

However, the members of election committee refuted his allegation. “The process to distribute offices happened under our watch. All of them were offered positions democratically. We have put all the things on record,” said Venkatesh, a member of the election committee.

“Moreover, Srivastava did not raise his objection during the process,” Venkatesh added. When asked why didn't he raise the objection then, Srivastava said that he didn't get the favourable time and chance.

While Srivastava has threatened to withdraw his membership, he has not submitted any formal information in this regard. CitySpidey spoke to Neeraj Tyagi, the president of the new AOA. He confirmed that he has not received resignation of Srivastava through any means. “I would not resign if I become an office bearer in the AOA,” srivastava said while clearing his condition to stay in the AOA.

Meanwhile, a resident of Ajnara Integrity, on the condition of anonymity questioned Srivastavas's intent behind his anticipated move. “Firstly, he did not raise objection in the first meeting of AOA. Secondly, he is yet to inform the board about his resignation. He also said that he should have approached the AOA first,” the resident said.
