New Delhi: On the occasion of Republic Day, the Mayur Vihar Phase 3 society felicitated an 89-year-old freedom fighter Kuldeep Kaur. She shared her thoughts about roles of her and her husband at the time of the freedom struggle. People listened to her inspiring story and felt proud as an Indian. 

In addition to fun-filled events and sports activities, few awareness programs were also arranged. It included street plays as well. Patriotic songs were also played on the occasion. 

Area SHO Premsingh Negi demonstrated a motivational speech for girls. He talked about self-defence techniques for girls. 79-year-old Rajni Mohan Mahajan was presented an award of most active senior citizen.

He is a president of Pocket A2 and patron of Himachal Bandhu Sabha. He is also actively working as area coordinator for United Forum of Residents in Mayur Vihar Phase 3 and Noida. 

Convener and President of Mayur Vihar Green Pocket 4, Vinod Kumar Nair said, “For motivating our cops and senior citizens, we have distributed few awards. SHO of Ghazipur Police Staion, Prem Singh Negi was awarded for keeping the area public friendly and ensuring proper law and order.” 

On the occasion, area councillor Atul Gupta, Rajeev Kumar (DJB member), chairman of MCD park Jugnoo Choudhary and office bearers of various other RWAs and socio cultural organisations were present.

Basic issues like pollution, poor road connectivity, metro connectivity, contaminated water supply, transfer of DDA roads to PWD and Ghazipur landfill pollution were discussed.

The program started with flag hoisting at 9.30 am along with national anthem and ended with award distribution for winners in various fun-filled events at 5.30 pm.
