New Delhi: Despite heavy downpour on Tuesday morning, the air quality in the National Capital continued to remain in the 'very poor' category.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 8.30 in the morning was 346 with PM10 at 308 and PM2.5 at 179.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’ and 401-500 ‘severe’.
According to the Met Department, the minimum temperature at 8.30 am was 10.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while the humidity level was 100 per cent.
The weatherman has predicted hailstorm and thunderstorm in various parts of Delhi in the evening.
The maximum and minimum temperature would hover around 19 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively.
The weather department has also predicted scattered to fairly widespread rain or thunderstorm on January 29.
