New Delhi: The Delhi traffic police has issued a traffic advisory for Beating Retreat ceremony which will be held on Wednesday at Vijay Chowk. 

The police has made elaborate arrangements for the ceremony and illumination of Rashtrapati Bhawan, North Block, South Block, and Parliament House. 

Vijay Chowk will remain closed for traffic movement from 2 pm to 9.30 pm. The ceremony will begin from 4 pm and will continue til 6.30 pm. Traffic will also be restricted in Rafi Marg between Sunehri Masjid and Krishi Bhawan, Raisina Road from Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk, Beyond Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg and Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk. 

Rajpath between Vijay Chowk and 'C' Hexagon would remain open only for pedestrians. 

Entry and exit at Udyog Bhawan and Central Secretariat metro stations will remain closed from 2 pm to 6.30 pm. 

People are advised to take alternate routes such as Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madarsa ‘T’ Point, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, Minto Road etc. 

The advisory also stated that buses will be diverted from their normal routes from 2 pm to 9.30 pm to facilitate the vehicles of invitees and spectators and to avoid traffic congestion on roads around the venue of the ceremony and India Gate. 

It also asked the general people to report to the nearest policeman if they find any unidentified object or suspicious person.
