Gurugram: Residents of Vipul Lavanya, Sector 81, celebrated Basant Panchmi with great enthusiasm and traditional gaiety. The society celebrated its first Saraswati puja which was organised by the Bengali community called Bengalis in Lavanya.

Welcoming the spring season, the devotees dressed up in yellow attire, prepared food consisting yellow color and performed puja to celebrate the festival.

A puja pandal displaying colourful idols of Saraswati were installed in the society premises. The puja commenced with Pushpanjali thereafter prasad were distributed among the devotees.

The residents along with tiny tots dressed in yellow attires thronged the venue seeking blessings of Maa Saraswati. 

Children were explained about the significance of the day. The kids of the society worshipped Goddess Saraswati for knowledge and wisdom.

While talking to Cityspidey, Dipankar Majumdar, one of the members, said, "This is our first ever Sarawati Puja which we are celebrating in the society as a whole community. Various religious and cultural are part of this celebration. In the evening, Sandhya aarti will be performed followed by cultural night. Idol immersion will be done tomorrow."
