New Delhi: The weatherman has good news for Delhiites and the people living in adjoining cities. After braving the prolonged cold spell, the city is in for warmer days. The minimum temperatures of Delhi-NCR are going to increase again after 48 hours.

Skymet weather services reported, "After 48 hours, minimum temperatures of Delhi NCR will come back to double-digit. Moreover, these minimums will not come down to single-digit from now on as the Western Disturbances which will now approach the Western Himalayas will be feeble in nature." 

The National Capital witnessed the second rainiest January this year in a decade. Due to the western disturbance, the minimum temperature in the National Capital has dropped by a couple of degrees. 

Thursday saw a foggy and cold morning with the minimum temperatures settling at 8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the average during the season. 

The day is expected to remain clear with strong winds blowing at 15-20 km per hour. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 21 degrees Celsius. 

According to the Met department, due to the shallow fog, visibility was reduced to 200 metres in areas covered by Palam and 800 metres in areas covered by Safdarjung weather station.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am was 177 in Delhi which falls in the 'moderate category'. According to Skymet weather, the pollution level is expected to remain in the moderate category for the next two days following which it may increase gradually. 

Friday will see a drop in minimum temperature as northwesterly winds will once again pick up the pace.
