Raj Nagar RWA raises issue of contaminated ground water to MLA

Ghaziabad: The several pockets of Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad, are facing problem of contamination of ground water which they extract from hand pumps and submersible electrical pumps. Regarding this, the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of Raj Nagar has complained to Minister of State in Uttar Pradesh government, Atul Garg.

Garg is also an MLA from the constituency of Ghaziabad where Raj Nagar falls.

The RWA has complained through a letter. In the letter, the RWA has blamed industries operating nearby in Meerut Industrial Area for the contamination of ground water.

Peeyush Kumar, the president of the RWA informed that the complaint to Garg was made after examining the water of the area.

“The water was found contaminated in the test done on the water supply of two houses of the area. The report revealed heavy induction of dangerous chemicals in the water. The regular consumption of this contaminated water can inflict serious diseases related to skin, kidney, liver and even jaundice,” he said.

The RWA alleged that these industries discharge polluted water which has contaminated the underground water. The association has demanded a survey of the industries running in the Meerut Industrial Area.

The RWA has also written a separate letter to district magistrate raising the same issue.
