Noida: Residents of high rises in Sector 76, 77, and 78 can now breathe easy. Their prayers have been finally answered with a private agency hired by Noida Industrial Development Authority, on Thursday, started mounted lamps on poles alongside the main roads replacing defunct ones.
According to officials of the authority, as many as 2,695 LED bulbs are being mounted to cover the all poles along the roads beside the aforementioned sectors.
LED lights have already been installed on the road leading to Sector 78 from Sector 77.
Earlier, they carried out the same task on the other road going towards Golf View societies from Hanuman temple.
The authority had installed the poles on these recently developed roads. But since lights were not mounted on the poles the roads remained unsafe for commuters at night.
Devendra Singh, an active citizen from Sector 78 who had complained and followed up with the officials for the development, said with the installation of streetlights the safety issues of commuters and residents of nearby societies have been resolved once and for all.
The work on the installation of streetlights is being carried out by a private agency under the supervision of TATA light, another private agency, hired by the authority as the main contractor.
With this, all the dark patches of the roads in 7X sectors are going to be illuminated.
