New Delhi: On February 1, the Finance Minister will present the Union Budget 2020-21. Lots of expections are lingering in the mind of general public as they are facing the brunt of inflation since long.

CitySpidey has tried to get the pulse of people ahead of the Union Budget. The tax payers are seeking change in the income tax slabs. The middle-class people, who have invested their hard-earned money in flats, are demanding some relief in the EMIs which they are paying against their home loans.

Resident of Ankur Apartment, Bharati Sinha said, “Both of us are earning for better livelihood of our children. We earn about Rs 1 lakh per month. Still, we are not able to save as per our expectations. A big chunk of money goes into the EMI of home loan which we borrowed two years ago. I am expecting some relief in that regard.”

“We both are tax payers and we are getting almost nothing in return,” she said.

A resident of Ganesh Nagar Aarti Singha said, “Earlier I was not working, but after demonetisation, I started working as a teacher in private school. Our total earning of the house is Rs 60,000 and we hardly manage our expenses. So far, we have not been able to buy our own home. There should be some relief in the coming budget.”

Rekha, a maid, said that she used to earn Rs 20,000 in a month. Her husband is a factory worker. Still they are not happy as they are struggling to make ends meet. They are BPL card holder as well. Recently, they applied for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Meanwhile, economic survey was presented in both houses on Friday as the budget session has already started.
