Raj Nagar Extn: Demand for police post put forth in front of police admin

Ghaziabad: The long pending demand of the residents of Raj Nagar Extension to set up a police post in the area was finally put in front district police administration. Sanjeev Tyagi, municipal councillor of Raj Nagar Extension met Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad and put forth this demand.

The demand was to set up a separate and dedicated police post for Raj Nagar Extension. Tyagi said that the area is surrounded by three police posts and the jurisdiction of the area is divided in all three of them.

“This creates confusion among residents while visiting concerned police post for the complaints. Many residents, who are new in the area, have no idea about which police post would govern their residence. At the time of emergency, they have to visit more than one police post in order to take help from the police,” he explained.

“This is why, a dedicated police post, which can govern the whole Raj Nagar Extension, is required to rule out this confusion,” Tyagi added to his explanation.

Shubham Srivastava, a resident of SCC Heights, a highrise in Raj Nagar Extension said that if the area would get its own police post, it will become a huge convenience for the residents. He cited his personal incident to justify it.

“My Laptop was burgled few months ago from my car parked near VVIP Mall in Raj Nagar Extension. As I live near Morta village, I thought my complaint would be registered at Morta Police Post. However, I was send to Suhani Chungi Police Post to register my complaint. If there would have been a dedicated police post, I would not have to roam from one post to the other,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the matter of location of the police post, Tyagi said that he proposed to set up the police post in an office of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC).

“We have a zonal office next to SG Impressions society which is vacant currently. It is a two room place where police administration can run the police post on temporary basis till the time a fixed place for it is not found,” he added.

Commenting on the issue, SSP Ghaziabad, Kalanidhi Naithani said that he has asked his junior to survey the area and present a report in the matter. “We have asked the inspector of Sihani Gate Police Station to visit and inspect the area to identify the spot for the set up of police post in Raj Nagar Extension. The report is awaited,” SSP Kalanidhi Naithani told CitySpidey.
