A first for GMC: Online pet registration

Ghaziabad: Residents here no longer need to take rounds of government offices for registration of their pets. They can now get their pets registered through a mobile application sitting in the comfort of their homes. 

The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has launched the mobile application on Saturday for the residents to register their pet animals. With this app, the GMC has become the first municipal corporation in Uttar Pradesh to provide an online pet registration service.

Officials say with this app pet registration has become a hassle-free experience. The residents just have to make a few taps on their smartphones, and the registration is done.

The application is currently available on GooglePlay Store under the caption – Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Pet Registration.

The officials said that the public either can search the name on the playstore to install the application or can visit the website to access the download link of the application.

Here is the step by step procedure to access and install the application.

? Search the application on the playstore and download on your smartphone

? Then, feed your mobile number. An OTP will be sent on your mobile number. Feed the OTP to complete verification

? Thereafter, feed details of your pet, including name, kind, breed, date of birth and details about its rabies vaccination. Attach a photograph of your pet

? Once done with the procedure, make online payment of the fees to complete the registration.

Following these easy steps, the residents would be able to register their pet in the records of the GMC. Officials told CitySpidey that it will help the corporation to directly communicate with the pet owners in case any programme regarding to the pets are launched.

If the residents can't find the application on the PlayStore,  they can alternatively visit the website of the GMC (www.ghaziabadnagarnigam.in) and go on "important links" section to select "apply for dog license" link to directly access the link of application on the PlayStore.

The GMC has also issued a helpline number of the technical department for the residents who might face technical difficulty in downloading or navigating through the app. For any clarification, the residents can take the dial GMC helpline number: 97111 39539.
