Faridabad: The 34th edition of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela kickstarted on February 1 in Faridabad, Haryana. Himachal Pradesh is the theme state of this year’s mela while Uzbekistan is the partner nation. 

The Mela is being organised by the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs. Besides states of the Union, at least 20 countries are participating in this year’s fair. England is participating in the jamboree for the first time. 

Touted to be one of the largest craft fair of the world, the Surajkund Mela is unique as it showcases the richness and diversity of the handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of India. 

The fair opened with the performances of folk artists. Several renowned national and international artists will perform every day till the end of the fair.

Apart from handicrafts, the fair also has a food court to satiate the taste buds of the foodies. 

The mela will last till February 16 from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm. The tickets for the fair are priced at Rs 120 on weekdays and Rs. 180 on weekends and holidays.
