Nirbhaya case: Dwarka residents continue with candle march

Dwarka: As the punitive action is still due for the culprits of Nirbhaya gangrape, the community people have been carrying out candle march on a regular basis in Dwarka. The candle march is being organised in the localities around Sector 19.

The candles were placed in front of the gate of Akshardham Apartments.

In the candle march, community people from across the city and also the National Capital are participating. 

The RWA of Akshardham Apartments, the mother of Nirbhaya, Asha Devi and other RWAs and residents of surrounding societies are actively participating in the candle marches every day in the evening around 8 pm.

After delay in hanging of culprits, the residents said that the ongoing candle lighting and march would be more firm in the future. 

General secretary of RWA, Akshardham Apartments, Gomti Mattu said, “We are sad with the suspension of the hanging to the culprits which was decided to be done on February 1. Now, we have become more determined to continue with our candle marches. We started it on December 16 and vowed to carry it until the culprits are hanged.”
