La Residentia: Glass door falls at flat; family escapes unhurt

Greater Noida: A family living in La Residentia, a high rise in Greater Noida West, luckily escaped injuries when a glass-made door fell and crashed in one of their rooms on Wednesday afternoon.

According to flat owner, Puneet Kumar Chaudhary, who lives in his flat number T 9-2001, the glass door fell outside when his father-in-law pushed the door to open it around 3 pm.

Chaudhary said, “My father-in-law, carrying my daughter on his lap, tried to go outside by opening the balcony door. It fell off as soon as he touched it. Thank God, neither my daughter nor he got injured from broken glasses.”

The father of 1.5 years old daughter, however, said, “I think we have escaped miraculously. It could have been dangerous if the incident happened while she was playing on the floor.”

Talking to CitySpidey, he said, “I called the maintenance department in the society but did not get response from their side even when they were made aware of it.”

Citing the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, he further said, “In case any structural defect or any other defect in workmanship, quality or services or any other obligations of the promoter as per the agreement for sale relating to such development is brought to the notice of the promoter within a period of five years by the allottee from the date of handing over possession, it shall be the duty of the promoter to rectify such defects without further charge, within thirty days.”
