Blue Line metro services affected due to repair works

New Delhi: Train services were hit for an hour on Blue Line between Yamuna Bank and Rajouri Garden on Wednesday. Later on, normal services resumed on the line.

The services were regulated between 3 pm and 4 pm. It was done to undertake repair of broken strands on OHE wire between Rajiv Chowk and RK Ashram metro section.

As per the statement of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), there is a suspicion that strands were broken because of foreign material falling on OHE.

“The exact reason shall be worked out during night after completion of train services,” said DMRC in a statement.

Trains moved at a very slow pace of 5 kmph to avoid damage to the pantographs of the trains. It caused delay to passengers.

“To avoid impact on the entire Blue Line, train movement was regulated intermittently through loops also- between Karol Bagh to Dwarka-21 section and Indraprastha to Noida/Vaishali section,” the DMRC said.
