Delhi elections: Here's how you can vote if not having Voter ID card

New Delhi: In a democracy, the right to vote is inalienable part of citizen's rights. An electoral franchise also strengthens participatory democracy allowing the common man's concern to be aired in the Indian legislature. Keeping this in mind, every election is important for voters.

As the Delhi Assembly elections are just around the corner, the voters should make sure that they are ready to exercise their franchise. You should know that even if you don't have a Voter ID card, you can vote in the elections. For that, you should first check your name in the electoral roll.

There are various online and offline options provided by the Election Commission for enrollment in the electoral roll. You can fill the form online. You can also find your name without having EPIC number of Voter ID card. To check whether your name is there in electoral roll, you can visit the website or can access it through mobile app.

Once you are through with the process to check your name in the electoral roll, you can actually vote without having the Voter ID card. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has approved the documents which the voters can use in order to vote in the elections.

Once a voter is eligible to vote and has access to voter slip, he/she can vote by using authorised photo ID card. The authorised documents which a voter can use when he/she doesn't have Voter ID card are as follows:
