Noida: Students of Green Valley Academy, a private school in Sector 48, Noida, on Saturday organised a theme-based event namely 'Green Festival' to mark the annual day at the premises of the academy.
They staged two plays drawing attention towards how to improve air quality, reduce contamination of water and give up habit of using plastic carry bags in day to day lives.
Shankar Sohel, senior film director said that he got emotional after he came to know that the theme of these plays was developed by these students.
Many students also presented cultural programs on this occasion. They staged beautiful dance and mesmerised audience present in the auditorium.
He said, “They touched upon very sensible topics. They educated citizens about improvement of air and water quality and also emphasised on saying no to usages of plastic carry bags.”
V Krishnan, chief guest of the event said that such cultural events help students to develop knowledge about society. Parents also come to know about their children as what all they are learning during the academy.
It concluded with distribution of scholarship and awards among meritorious students from the school. Kusum Sharma, chairperson of the academy and Amrita Srivastava, principal of the academy were present.
