Gurugram worst performer in timely delivery of social services

Gurugram: Gurugram has been named as the worst performer among 22 districts of Haryana in terms of timely delivery of social welfare schemes and public services.

A survey conducted by Antyodaya Saral, an online platform, assessed the performance of districts of the state in the delivery of over 400 development schemes and welfare services like issuing driving licenses, ration cards, and providing power connections.

Out of a total of 1,714,247 applications received, the Gurugram district administration was only able to clear 1,674,072 of them. And of the pending 40,175 applications, over 7,000 are beyond the Right to Service (RTS) timeline.

Thus, Gurugram was at the bottom in all these parameters scoring just 8.3 while Rewari topped the list with a score of 9.5. Kurushetra stood with a score of 9.3.

This is not the first time that Gurugram has performed worst. Ever since the platform started releasing monthly rankings, the district has been consistently performing poorly. Last month, it was at the 19th position.

The district has not even once made it to the top 10.

Antyodaya Saral was launched in September 2017 to keep a track of 493 services provided 37 government departments across 22 districts.

The departments are given scores after analysing their records in timely dispensing services, ease of access, and timely disposal of grievances.
