Surajkund: A fashion show called ‘Naturally North-East: The Naga Narrative’ was curated by Ritu Beri, a renowned fashion designer.

Ritu Beri organised the fashion show, a first of its kind, in association with Tribes India and Suraj Kund authorities. It showcased the Naga weave with modern touch and various other products from North-East states.

Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta was the chief guest for the occasion.

The north-eastern part of India has a rich tradition in art and craft of its own. It is a place where a distinctive character of each tribe lies in its style of design.

The event highlighted the culture of Nagaland through fusion attire mixed with local beaded jewellery. It showcased a wide variety of specially designed apparels highlighting the tribal weaves and motives, accessories, jewellery etc. of the north-eastern states.

Apart from this, the Tribes India showcased a variety of textile, accessories, jewellery and Van Dhan natural products from the north eastern such as gooseberry candy, dried wild apple, bamboo shoot, Naga king chilli and other spices like ginger powder etc. at the Suraj Kund Mela.
