New Delhi: Pollution level in Delhi continued to deteriorate as the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 301 on Sunday rendering it to the ‘very poor’ category, according to Centre-run System of Weather Forecasting and Research.
In Lodhi Road area, the major pollutants, PM 2.5 and PM 10, stood at 203 and 214 respectively which falls in the ‘very poor’ category.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), in its bulletin, said that the air quality is likely to deteriorate or remain ‘poor’ to the lower end of the ‘very poor’ category on February 9 while it is likely to remain in the lower end of the ‘very poor’ category on February 10.
At Chandni Chowk, the AQI stood at 336 which falls in the ‘very poor’ category while on Mathura Road it was recorded at 315.
Neighbouring Noida too recorded AQI in the ‘very poor’ category at 319.
The minimum temperature at Safdarjung today in the morning was 7 degrees Celsius.
