Ghaziabad: To streamline the rising traffic congestion in the city, Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) would construct six multilevel parking complex to accommodate over 5,000 vehicles.

Two of them would be constructed in Indirapuram. Officials told that the paper work is in process and the construction is likely to start by June.

The market areas of the city face the maximum share of traffic jams. The reason behind this is lack of parking spots and the habit of people parking their vehicles on the roadside.

However, keeping these things in mind, the GDA has come up with a plan to build six multilevel parking spots.

The civic authorities would develop four multilevel parking complexes in trans-Hindon area and two in city area. The parking complexes would be developed at Indirapuram, Sahibabad, Gandhinagar, Mohan Nagar and Rajnagar District Center (RDC), the officials informed.

Indirapuram will have two complexes, of which, one is already under construction at Swarna Jayanti Park.

The city has two multilevel parking spots already. One at Vaishali metro station where 400 vehicles can be accommodated. The other one is located at district collectorate center where 200 vehicles can be accommodated.
