Raheja Navodaya: Residents meet MLA over prevalent issues at society

Gurugram: Residents of Raheja Navodaya, a residential society in Sector 92, Gurugram, held a meeting with Badshahpur MLA Rakesh Daultabad on Sunday and appraised him about the problems that they are facing at the society.

Representatives of Gurugram police along with neighbouring societies were also present in the meeting with the MLA at the society premises.

In the meeting, the residents demanded action against the builder and pointed out several infrastructure gaps in the project. They said that there are several discrepancies in the project and despite repeated complaints against the builder, no action has been taken by the concerned department.

Pradeep Kumar, a resident of the society said, “I have lodged the complaint against the builder in December last year but the authorities are oblivious to our grievances. We have urged the MLA to support us to resolve our society's infrastructural gaps and fix the responsibility of the builder to complete the project in timely manner.”

Around 350 families are living under despair as the society is reeling with several deficiencies including water seepage in the basement, lack of fire safety equipment, non-functional STP, malfunctioning of lifts, lack of swimming pool, plaster coming off from the walls among others basic amenities.

They have also sought his support in getting permanent electricity and water connection to their society. Manas Pachauri, RWA president of the society said, “We do not have permanent electricity connection even after three years of getting the occupancy certificates (OC) resulting lot of financial strain on the resident. We have also requested him to expedite the laying of water pipeline network in the vicinity.”

Besides, the residents voiced their concerns over safety and security in the neighbourhood and demanded frequent patrolling in the area.

Meanwhile, MLA Rakesh Daultabad assured the residents to redress all the matter that raised during the meeting and maintained that he will hold a meeting the officials concerned for early resolution to their problems.
