Bus stop in Trilok Puri a picture of neglect

This despite the fact that almost all major bus routes pass through this road.

New Delhi: Just 10 km away from the Delhi Secretariat not a single DTC bus stop at an almost three-km stretch from Padparganj village to Trilok Puri road is in proper shape.

In fact, all the bus stops here are a picture of neglect. This despite the fact that almost all major bus routes pass through this road.

Residents of pocket 2 of Mayur Vihar phase 1 and Trilok Puri generally use these stoppages for their daily commute. Almost all the bus stops on the stretch are in a miserable condition.

What's more, the iron beams supporting the overhead shed of the stops are rusting and seats are broken while the road in front of the stops is unkempt with stagnant water accumulated in potholes.

A daily passenger from Shashi Garden Rajni Agarwal said, “I take a bus on route number 211. This is the only option I have to reach my destination. We have raised the issue of stoppage several times, but the authorities are not serious enough to resolve it.”

Such is the condition of the road that at times passengers fall down on the roadside while boarding or alighting from buses. Mahesh Kumar of Trilok Puri asked, “When the Delhi Government is giving access to WiFi for free, can't they provide a proper bus stop?”
