Gurugram: In a bid to promote waste management and resolve the cleanliness woes in the vicinity, Sare Homes, a residential society in Sector 92, conducted an awareness workshop on solid waste management and e-waste management for residents.

The workshop was organised by Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of the society in collaboration with an NGO Action in Community and Training.

Around 50 residents attended the workshop and discussed various aspects of the solid waste management and waste segregation at the source level during the two-hour long session.

During the session, the residents were taught about how to segregate waste in dry and wet category at homes in order to make the compost making easier at the society level.

Various procedures and techniques were explained during the session that can be used to eliminate the garbage woes in the city.

Praveen Malik, RWA President of the society said, “We have already started the basic segregation at the society level and implemented the pit composting initially. We are in talks with the agency who will collect all the e-waste from society for its proper disposal without harming the environment.”

“With this, we are planning to move forward with dry waste management with an aim of reduce, reuse and recycle to become a zero waste community,” he added.
