Gurugram: Taking a stern stand on the defaulters, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has decided to take action against those agencies and contractors, who failed to initiate the work within 30 days from the allotment of work.

In this regard, orders have been issued to engineering wing by the MCG Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh.

The order issued on the direction of MCG chief stated that the notices will be issued to all the defaulting agencies which have not started the work at the site even after lapse of 30 days from the date of allotment of the work.

Even after the notice, if the work does not get started on the site by the concerned agency or contractor within 15 days, then action will be taken against him under the various clauses of the agreement and the process of blacklisting the agency should be done immediately.

The engineers are further directed to ensure that ongoing work will be completed within stipulated time, and in case of delay, timely action will be taken against the agency.

“If there is a valid reason for delay, the extension of time will be granted before the expiry of the agreement. The order should be implemented effectively and any laxity will warrant strict action against the MCG officials.” said an officials of MCG.
